Spring Beauty Buys
Do you ever log on to Sephora's site and feel immediately overwhelmed by their huge selection of products? I used to buy about 1-2 products twice a month, but then I started doing my research and planning my purchases more carefully. Here, I've detailed my favorite purchases from February/March:
I've become a huge skincare junkie lately, and am especially taken with the Sunday Riley brand. I purchased their toner last week, and literally watched it take the redness out of my skin the first time I used it. Their brightening water cream is something I've been hooked on for about a month and it's the perfect primer before you put on your moisturizer (I use this one by Boscia because it has SPF 30). At night, I take my make-up off with this stuff by Simple, which is super gentle. I follow up with lavender scented Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate so I don't wake up with dry skin.
As far as actual make-up purchases go, these are my top picks lately:
Glossier Cloud Paint- I purchased this in "puff" and "dusk", and I'm obsessed. It's the perfect amount of color and looks really natural over liquid foundation.
I used this lip stain from Nars (called "velvet lip glide") in an outfit post I put up a few weeks ago and got lots of questions asking what I was wearing. The color is called "Toy" and is the perfect deep plum. It also has really good staying power.
I'm a total lip balm addict, and I bought this at Free People a few weeks ago and haven't been able to stop using it. I just found it on Amazon and may or may not have just purchased a few more to keep in all my bags. The coconut smell is amazing, and it's a definite must buy for anyone who regularly uses Rosebud lip salve.
I'm not an everyday highlighter user, but this Milk product may have me rethinking that. It's very shimmery and easy to put on. I like wearing it on days I'm not feeling like putting on blush, or over a really tiny amount of cloud paint.
Thanks to my friend Maggie (who btw has an amazing instagram you should follow, @maggiemayes) I was introduced to Hourglass, who I now buy my concealer and foundation from. This lip stylo is actually perfect and is basically a creamier version of a lipstick. I bought it in "Achiever" but currently have "Influencer" in my Sephora cart.
The last product I bought was an under-brow highlighter by Benefit, which is really just perfect for brightening the area around your eyes (above where you'd put on eyeshadow).
I'll be putting up a post soon with all my favorite drugstore beauty buys, too!
