As some of you may know from following me on instagram, I recently went to New York for a 4-day trip and spent a few hours at Facebook/Instagram HQ. I had so much fun meeting other bloggers and learning more about the platform we all use daily! I have been getting DM's nonstop since I posted my visit on my stories and wanted to condense all of my advice into a post for everyone :) First, though, a little about my look:
Read MoreLos Angeles isn't exactly known for cool, crisp fall weather but....it actually gets a little chilly over here sometimes. Even though I'm not buying coats and scarves, I'll always love a good chunky knitwear piece and typically invest in one or two each season. I've been very focused on brighter colors this season. Maybe it's a reflection of my mood, but I just can't seem to bring myself to buy anything in a neutral color. I think this is because I've realized the statement pieces I wear over and over again are in bolder hues. I still think it's important to buy black basics (like these bike shorts and this bodysuit) every season, as we all typically reach for these pieces again and again. I linked some more budget friendly options below, which are especially useful if live/plan on visiting somewhere that has actual fall/winter weather!
Read MoreMy instagram bio doesn't lie, I really am always running late. I have been actively working on trying to be better for the last few months, but I think it might just be hardwired into my DNA. If you're like me, this jacket is the perfect statement piece. The colorful fringe and unique embroidered details make it the perfect colorful yet fall-appropriate wardrobe addition.
Read MoreIt's not exactly an original statement to say your favorite color is pink, but mine definitely is. I never expected so many of my fall purchases to be pink but still feel seasonally- appropriate. I realize this could be partly due to the fact that I live in Los Angeles, but I received so many compliments on this dress (from New Yorkers) when I was at Fashion Week.
Read MoreThis dress is, without doubt, one of the best things in my closet right now. I will definitely be rewearing it to a non-NYFW event in the near future. I know the head to toe red look was most popular last fall, but I still think it works if you keep your accessories neutral. For those of you with formal events coming up I would highly recommend anything created by the STAUD brand. Their pieces are beautiful, elegant, and (most importantly) not crazy expensive.

Read MoreTo me, the perfect vacation spot is equal parts beach and city. This is probably why I always gravitated towards Los Angeles before I finally moved here two years ago.

Read MoreI know I've posted about this before, but my band tee collection is the #1 thing I get DM's about! As I've mentioned before, I don't get them from one specific place. I'm on the hunt constantly- at home in L.A., traveling and pretty much whenever I'm online shopping.

Read MoreI recently took a road trip from Los Angeles (my home) to Portland, Oregon with my sister and had an amazing time. I can't say I ever got super dressed up (except for tea at the Rotunda, pictured above). My wardrobe mostly consisted of leggings, t-shirts, sweatshirts and the occasional pair of jeans but comfort is KEY when you're driving through the middle of nowhere for hours on end.
Read MoreLast year I found myself buying striped pants over and over again. I got these and another pair from Topshop. I had no idea how useful they would be but I found myself wearing them more often than not, so I figured that this year when it came to "investment pieces", I'd definitely be buying a new pair, preferably made out of a quality fabric.
Read MoreAnyone else feel like they're always throwing on the same jean jacket over their outfit? Or wearing the same pair of jeans to everything?? Every time I wear something "safe" aka incredibly basic, I always regret it later and wish I'd taken more risks. This is especially true on weekends, when I'm tempted to wear the same jean jacket, pair of jeans, or denim shorts over and over again. Weekend plans are supposed to be FUN, which means your outfit needs to be, too.

This really means that I've seen way too many documentaries about unfair labor practices in overseas factories. I always take note of whether a brand cares about their factory workers before I agree to work with them. This means I have passed on collaborations with lots of brands with accessible price points- not because I don't think their clothes are cute but because I wouldn't want to promote a company with a shady past in terms of labor practices/quality control (it's kind of like setting your friend up with an attractive guy you know has a sketchy reputation).

So many of you DM'd me on Instagram and asked about upkeep, products, and whether I did this myself (spoiler alert: don't trust myself enough for that).
